The purpose of the Planning Commission is to advise the City Council on development in the community and make a formal recommendation on infrastructure improvements and planning and zoning issues in the city. Members of the Planning Commission are responsible for assisting city staff with the administration and enforcement of the city's comprehensive plan, zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, and land-use policies. Overall decision-making by the Planning Commission is based on whether the project is working toward the betterment of the city and the vision statement adopted in the city's comprehensive plan. Regular meetings are typically held at 6:00 p.m. on the third Monday of the month at City Hall as needed, unless posted otherwise.
